ultimate wedding checklist

This ultimate wedding checklist: From a photographers perspective.

These are the most important parts of your wedding to tick off.

Planning a wedding can be a monumental task, and having a comprehensive checklist is essential to ensure nothing falls through the cracks in the lead-up to the big day. Your ultimate wedding checklist should start with a timeline. Establish a clear schedule of tasks, deadlines, and appointments, starting from the day of your engagement and leading up to the wedding day. This will help you stay organized and prioritize your to-dos. Next, create a budget outline. Determining your financial limits and allocating funds for each aspect of the wedding, from venue and catering to attire and decor, will prevent overspending and financial stress.

We a wedding planner will have most of this done for you but these are some tips directly from a photographer that you should make sure you consider for your big day.

1. Propose

We know this might be a given but if you want to be super organised, we have you covered. We couldn’t think of a more perfect way than photographing your surprise proposal. Check this “8 tips on planning the most unforgettable surprise proposal” out to see how to bring this to life.

2. Engagement photoshoot

Now this might not seem like a necessity but this old school tradition is definitely one to keep. We covered those reasons in this blog “Engagement photoshoot: Why you should have one.” Attire-related items, like finding the perfect wedding dress, suits for the groom and groomsmen, and accessories, should also be on the list. To get you even more prepared we have covered the “Yes and no’s of engagement photo outfits.”

In addition to timeline and budget, your checklist should include key elements such as selecting the wedding venue and setting the date, hiring a photographer and videographer, choosing the catering menu, and securing a florist. Don’t forget to include smaller yet equally important tasks, like creating a guest list, sending out save-the-dates and invitations, and arranging transportation for the bridal party and guests
